Secretary Salazar Visits Ivanpah
On September 20, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar stopped by the Ivanpah SEGS for a quick visit. For about 30 minutes, representatives from NRG, BrightSource and Bechtel guided the Secretary and his colleagues to the Unit 1 power block area and solar field. The group provided the Secretary with up-to-date information on the project, the various types of construction activity underway and the major milestones the team had reached to date. At the end of his brief tour, Secretary Salazar thanked the team and praised the team for doing a “great job.”
